Just a quick news roundup of a story and an event taking place this weekend.
First off there will be a clean up of the MS River Basin Model Cleanup Saturday December 8, 2018 at 8:00 am – 12:00 pm which is located at Buddy Butts Park, 6180 McRaven Rd, Jackson, MS. Help take back the model from the overgrowth! There are several types of activities for all ages and skill levels from removing dirt and debris on the panels to cutting down and removing invasive trees. Water will be provided, please bring personal lawn or farm equipment you feel comfortable using.
The big news from Natchez is that the Historic Natchez Foundation has acquired the Prentiss Club and will be rebuilding the roof. The exterior will also be restored. These are the first steps towards bringing this Natchez landmark back to life. If you don’t recall, the building suffered a fire over Labor Day weekend this year. A GoFundMe account has also been set up if you would like to help the HNF restore the building. https://www.gofundme.com/raise-the-roof-for-the-prentiss-club

good news about the former prentiss club bldg in natchez. but, i know that the former owners are sad that their project didn’t come to fruition when it was so close to completion; they were brave to tackle the challenge initially. certainly, all of us at mp wish the hnf ‘great good luck’ in this venture
