Texas had so many roadside parks, likely due to the large expanse of rural areas without easy access to a town. I recall many a trip from early childhood through adulthood and stopping at roadside areas for a brief rest, or to eat lunch. Many are gone, but a surprising number still survive including some built by the New Deal Administration.
