Jackson’s former General Electric Plant a victim of arson

According to WLBT, the former G.E. Lamp Works, more lately the Jackson Enterprise Center, on Highway 80 suffered a major arson fire beginning sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, and firefighters spent most of the day keeping hot spots from flaring back up. It’s difficult to see from the images WLBT posted what the state of the masonry (I assume concrete with brick veneer) walls is and whether the fire completely destroyed the wooden roofing.

The large masonry structure was designed by Jackson architect R.W. Naef and built in 1941 with later additions.
