Mississippi Streets: 1960s Neshoba County Fair

NESHOBA COUNTY FAIR, Philadelphia, Miss. "Welcome to Happy Hollow"--a part of the nation's most unusual county fair. Many Fair visitors move into their "homes" on Monday and stay until Sunday, bringing their furnishings, bedding, food, etc. with them. Bare-back and harness horse racing. See the colorful Choctaw Indians in original dress. This Fair is unlike any you've seen anywhere else.

  1. This reminds me of the Camp Meeting held in Oxford. Attendees had “cabins” that they moved into for the week.
