Finishing the shortest month of the year with a short News Round-up:
Rosedale was in the news again – making an appearance on the USDA Blog. The story they ran talks about the variety of sources of grant funds that made the renovations possible on the courthouse. It’s great that a preservation project in the Magnolia State was the focus of a post from a federal agency!
Another courthouse project made the news this week. Talk in Poplarville is that Pearl River County Courthouse is in need of repairs – and the County Supervisors will be making a list of the most immediate repairs needed. Nothing yet about where the funds for these repairs would come from, but we’ll keep an eye out for future developments on this potential project.
Finally, a follow-up story from the Hattiesburg tornado. According to an article in the American, the damage done on the USM campus is estimated to be $20M – $30M. Our friends at MDAH will be involved in the USM repairs – especially with the Alumni House, which is a Mississippi Landmark.
