MLK in Hattiesburg

Memorial march in Hattiesburg for Martin Luther King four days after his assassination in April 1968. "According to a Hattiesburg American article that day, approximately 1,500 marchers started at East Sixth and Mobile Streets, stopped at City Hall for a prayer service, continued to the Forrest County courthouse for a silent prayer, then returned to East Sixth and Mobile Streets." This photo is taken from the steps of City Hall, with the Saenger Theater in the background to the left and First Federal Bank to the right.
