I had to actually Laugh Out Loud when I saw the cover of the New Yorker this week. It depicts two triple-decker tour buses passing on a narrow street in Manhattan, blazing away at each other with cannons like two battleships. I don’t know why, but it struck me as a very funny perspective on heritage tourism.
And if you’re sitting inside this Saturday morning reading this, STOP!!! Go outside, sit on your porch, read a book, work in your garden, take a walk, enjoy this amazing weather while it lasts. It’s July, it’s Mississippi, it’s in the 80s, and it’s a weekend. What more can a person ask for?
