According to this story in the Sun Herald, which sources the MDAH website where I can’t find the original news release, five Mississippi properties have recently been listed to the National Register:
- Waveland School, Hancock County
- Christian and Brough Building, Vicksburg
- Starkville Colored Cemetery, Oktibbeha County
- Meridian Senior High and Junior College, Lauderdale County
- Tupelo Downtown Historic District, Lee County
Categories: Meridian, National Register, Schools, Tupelo, Vicksburg, Waveland
I hope this will organize someone to take better care of the colored cemetery in Starkville. No one knows who really owns it and the management is haphazard at best.

Submit a public records request for that news release (if any).

MDAH usually places press releases on their website under Newsroom: News Releases. The last one was July 1 so the webmaster must be on vacation this week.
