  1. It is the quintessential mid-20th century tourist experience! It’s all about the car – a motor court right on Hwy 61 – with easy access to gasoline (the Gulf sign), AAA approved, with those great old metal yard chairs, and a side dish of Aaron Burr mythology to boot!

    • I think the remains of this motor court are in the “V” of the current Hwy 61 and the old Hwy 84. The little matched houses on the north side of 61 may be a different motor court?

  2. There is also a row of small buildings on the west side of 61 right on the highway (just south of the Jefferson College entrance, across from the old Methodist Church). I suspect these were a part of either that, or another? “motor court” motel. There are about 5 of these little houses, identical, in a row, now occupied as dwellings by renters. This was built on the front grounds of an antebellum home (visible behind them).

  3. Are you sure this isn’t a picture of the near by and similar Natchez Motor Court?
