Not surprisingly, our old friend Waverley came out on top in the Golden Triangle poll, which closed Friday night after a two-week run. What was a surprise was the relatively low turnout, with a total of 422 votes, fewer than Vicksburg (463) or East Mississippi (618) and less than half of Oxford’s results (946)–so Ole Miss wins this round over MSU I’m afraid. Perry Cafeteria at MSU nudged out Lee Hall and even Riverview in Columbus, and the MUW folks failed to show up to bump their front campus up into the top five.
We only have three polls left: Delta, Piney Woods, and Jackson, and those should be complete by Thanksgiving, and after that, we can start boiling down these somewhat random results into our final list of 101 Mississippi Places to See Before You Die. Stay Tuned!
