Maddening sort of Greek revival house that could be anywhere in four states. Is there anything particularly special about this house? Is it antebellum; did someone interesting live here; did something happen here? North, south, east, or west?

You get a point for pointing out that it is Greek Revival.

Ha Ha, Carunzel. I searched Greek Revival clapboard in Mississippi until I realized I would NEVER be able to narrow that down.

I will also say that, while this could be hindsight on my part since I know where it is, I disagree with your opinion that it could be anywhere in four states. I believe that its form and ornamentation give clues as to its rough geographic location within Mississippi.

I am afraid the Name This Place contest this picture is a part of ended nearly two years ago. Also, your guess is incorrect. It is the Mosley House (sometimes spelled Moseley) at 120 West Valley Street in Hernando.
