MissPres readers in (or will be in) the Jackson area April 13 – 15 might want to check out the Crossroads Film Festival – which will be at the Malco Theater in Madison.
This year, our friends at Mississippi Heritage Trust are sponsoring a film block of two documentary shorts (one on Madison’s energy policy and one on Jackson’s architecture) before featuringUnfinished Spaces- which is about Cuba’s National Art Schools – begun in 1961 but never finished until 3 architects returned to Havana with finishing the buildings (which are still in use).
These films will be at 6 pm, Sunday April 15.
Earlier that day, those interested in archaeology and/or the Mayans might want to checking out the 3:20 pm block that has a short on Millsaps College’s archaeology project in the Yucatan before the feature Quest for the Lost Maya – which features Millsaps professors.
There should be other great films to catch the other days too – the full program for the weekend is available here.
