**Illinois Central Depot, Durant (c.1909). One of the most architecturally distinguished depots along the Illinois Central line, the Durant depot was deisgned by Chicago architect Frank D. Chase. It is the only remaining railroad-related resource in a community that once boasted a large yard and roundhouse for train maintenance.
