Before and After: Meridian’s Merrehope

Most of us know of Meridian’s National Register-listed museum house Merrehope. Today’s Before and After is actually an After and Before, showing what Merrehope looked like in the 1880s and before the major renovation and additions of the turn of the 20th century. According to the National Register nomination and the Merrehope website, this 1880s appearance was itself a second-generation appearance, having evolved from an 1850s cottage. The house is open for tours–for hours, check out the Merrehope website for more information.
