I second the gratitude. The Downing house design that is thought to have inspired this home, was one that I stumbled across when Dover Press republished Downing’s book in which the design appeared. I thought at the time it was one of the most spectacular designs Downing ever did, and now I find after all these years that a perhaps even more interesting version is being saved in Jackson. Kudos to MDAH on the work and on the blog, and kudos to EL Malvaney of this blog for making all this even better known
