One week into the two week poll for the central part of the state (from Canton to Carrollton and points in between), it’s time to check in on what’s happening. After an initial spurt on Friday and Saturday, things have quieted down, and the votes now total 313. Which is more than the Northeast at this point (271), about half of Natchez (641), and nowhere near the Coast, which had 1,588 votes at the halfway mark.
I’ve learned not to get too upset about low numbers in the first week, as it seems to take that long for word to get around and voters to get motivated. The results so far are fairly well spread out, showing that no one constituency has taken over, and that makes me happy.
If you haven’t voted yet, do it now, and if you know people from Canton, Yazoo City, Lexington, Carrollton, Durant, Vaiden, Acona, or Castalian Springs, make sure to send them the link so they can vote too!
