By the time you read this post, I will be well on my way to my first European Vacation, specifically to the south of France. I’ll be gone two weeks and won’t be guaranteed an internet connection most of the time, so the normal 5-6 days-a-week posting that you have all gotten used to round these parts may be a little less regular until mid-April.
Do not be alarmed, MissPres Readers, all is not lost! Tom Barnes and W. White will still be around and will be posting News Roundups, articles about hotels (including *cough* Markham *cough*), and maybe some pictures of their own favorite parts of Mississippi.
For my part, so that you won’t forget me, I’ll be posting at random intervals postcards from the perspective of a traveler to Mississippi c.1960. If you’d like to see history of a more historic vintage, you can follow my travels around France on my Flickr photostream, assuming I get to post anything there before I return.
Until then, be safe, take a break, go to a pilgrimage, sit on your porch, do anything but work as Spring finally comes in. Enjoy the azaleas for me–I’m afraid I’m going to miss them this year.
I’ve been given this Phonetic Guide to French for Southerners. I think it will help me communicate better in that foreign land while still maintaining my own cherished manner of speech.
