I just came upon this amazing website that’s attempting to build a database of all the movie theaters in the world. Ever! A lofty goal for sure, but it looks like they’re well on their way. They have 133 entries for Mississippi, and you can find the list at http://cinematreasures.org/location/country=181&state=25 In addition to location, you can also search by theater name, architect, theater chain, and other terms that I can’t imagine using for my research but maybe others need. Members can also leave comments, add pictures, and lend information, although it seems like you have to leave info in the comment box rather than being able to, say, add the architect to the actual database. Anyway, what better way to spend a Saturday than by clicking around a new-to-you theater website?
